Islandia Opens its Issue #2 Call for Submissions with a Flag Design Contest
Islandia is not only the name of our journal but many different places at once - a former city off the Florida coast, the Spanish word for Iceland, a fictional utopia, a town in Long Island - and as such, we'd like to create a flag reflective of these multitudes.
Inspired by the State of Florida's 1985 License Plate Design Contest, and being vexillologically inclined, we've decided to have a design competition for our flag. We've shared Ted Kaye's flag design pamphlet in our digital library for inspiration.
These are the guidelines for the Flag Design Contest:

-All entries must be submitted to islandiajournal@gmail.com with the subject line Flag Design Contest Entry followed by your name by July 15th at 11:59 PM
​
-All designs must either fit 1:1 or 3:4 ratios. Low res versions are preferred until such time as we select a winner
​
-If submitting in another category, send Flag Contest entry as separate submission
​
-Winner receives $100 and publication in the second issue of Islandia Journal
